Representing the Trafficking Victim-Witness: Securing Continued Presence and Providing Reasonable Cooperation for Purposes of the T Visa

(summer-fall series on trainings around immigrant victims of abuse/trafficking in collaboration with Sanctuary for Families)


Date: Wednesday, February 10, 2016

Time: 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.

This training will cover options for reporting trafficking crimes to law enforcement; the process by which Continued Presence is secured; and establishing client cooperation for purposes of T nonimmigrant status (the “T visa”). The training will include practical guidance on preparing clients for meetings with law enforcement and best practices for communicating with investigators and prosecutors. The training will be conducted by Melissa Brennan, Esq. of Sanctuary for Families. CLE Credit: 2 credits in professional practice. This course provides transitional credit for newly admitted attorneys and non-transitional credit for experienced attorneys.
