In 2016 we want to help as many New Yorkers as possible become citizens in time to register to vote in the upcoming presidential election. With that goal in mind, we hope you will mark your calendar for our annual spring events!

Call-In Training
Tuesday, April 12^th, 2016
9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.
CUNY Graduate Center

In preparation for our annual call-in (see below) CUNY Citizenship Now! will host an all day training which will cover the basics of immigration law to prepare volunteers to answer phones during the call-in week. The call-in kick-off reception will follow immediately after the training.

Each year at the call-in we provide callers with free, confidential information on immigration, as well as referrals to organizations that can help them with their specific issues. With the presidential election on the horizon, we expect many questions about applying for citizenship. Please consider volunteering for one shift or more!

Citywide Citizenship Day
Saturday, May 14, 2016
10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.
John Jay College of Criminal Justice

Finally, on Saturday, May 14^th, we will hold a citizenship event where we will assist many of those who called us during the call-in. With your help we hope to assist 400 participants with their applications. We will be sending out an email about volunteer training as the event approaches, so keep an eye out!
