Dear Friends,
On Saturday, May 21st, the NALEO Educational Fund, in partnership with the Office of Congresswoman Nydia M. Velazquez, Churches United For Fair Housing, El Puente, Make the Road New York, along with Latino Justice PRLDEF, Hispanic National Bar Association and AILA NY*, will continue celebrating citizenship and civic involvement with a ya es hora ¡Ciudadania! workshop at John Paul II Academy at St. Barbara’s Auditorium, located at 139 Menahan Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn, from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.
This workshop will provide free N-400 application assistance, photos, copies, citizenship exam study materials, one-on-one attention, and access to pro-bono immigration attorneys. Due to capacity, we will only serve the first 50 applicants.
Citizenship workshops are made possible by the support of partner organizations and the commitment and contributions of dedicated volunteers. As May 21st approaches, we need volunteers to assist us in helping eligible legal permanent residents become U.S. citizens. Food will be provided to volunteers at workshop.
If you would like to participate and you are an attorney, please click here. If you are not an attorney and would like to volunteer, please click here. Feel free to forward this message to other potential volunteers.
Mandatory volunteer training sessions are on: Thursday, May 19th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm or Saturday, May 21st from 9:30 am - 11:00 am (immediately before the workshop). See below:

About the ya es hora Campaign
The ya es hora campaign is an historic non-partisan campaign that was launched as the Latino community’s action-oriented follow-up to the mobilizations of 2006. It is the largest and most comprehensive effort to incorporate Latinos as full participants in the American political process.
