Temporary Protected Status Event for Haitians

Saturday, June 11th, 2011

10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Brooklyn, NY

Temporary Protected Status (TPS) has been extended and re-designated.  Also, current TPS status holders are allowed to re-register for TPS.  CUNY Citizenship Now! will be holding its fifth Haitian TPS Application Assistance event on Saturday June 11th, to provide services to those Haitians who qualify under the re-registration or the re-designation. We invite our Volunteer Corps members and other CUNY Citizenship Now! friends to come out and volunteer, especially those who speak Haitian Creole.

Volunteers at this event will be assisting applicants in completing their TPS forms, translating/interpreting for event participants, or may be assigned to other event stations.  So, we ask you to feel free to invite your Haitian Creole speaking friends and neighbors to come with you and help. Training materials will be provided to volunteers to explain the application process.

A registration link for this event can be found below.  Once you have registered, you will be sent a confirmation e-mail and you will also receive links to preparation materials that cover the application process and the procedures for this event.  A training/orientation session and breakfast will also take place the morning of the event at 9:00 a.m.  So we ask you to please come early.
