SPANISH SPEAKING VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED!
The Driver's License Access and Privacy Act, commonly called the 'Green Light law', allows all New Yorkers age 16 and older to apply for a standard driver license or learner permit regardless of their citizenship or lawful status in the United States.
Hispanic Federation is partnering with Latino Justice and Telemundo to host a partially televised two-day phone bank on the Green Light Law. The phone bank will give Spanish speakers an opportunity to call in, receive information, ask any questions they have about the Green Light law, and how to exercise their rights.
We are looking for Spanish speaking volunteers to help with this phone bank and educate the community on the Green Light Law. There are several opportunities to volunteer. We need volunteers for the two nights of the live phone bank to answer phones and help callers. We also need volunteers to do daytime call backs, for the three days after the live phone banks, to return the calls of those that do not get answered during the live phone bank. We will provide a phone script and training before each phone bank session both live and call backs. We will have legal professionals available to assists with any questions callers have that volunteers are unable to answer.
There will be a half hour training at 4:30 pm both days before we open the lines to callers at 5:00 pm. Please fill out the SIGN UP SHEET to volunteer!

Daytime Phone Bank Volunteers: 2 hour increments

(2) 12:00pm - 2:00pm, and/or
(3) 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Friday, January 17th:
(1) 10:00am - 12:00pm,
