Elderly Project Training:

·        Volunteers to be trained to make home visits to Senior Citizens to prepare health care proxy forms and power of attorney forms.

·        After completion of the training, “Volunteers to certify their participation in the program by obtaining their notary license.” Training materials will contain information on how to obtain notary public license.

·        Time Commitment: Four to Six home visits.


To Register for the Training:  forward a copy of your resume and cover letter  indicating your full name, cell phone number, mailing address,  your New York City Paralegal Association membership status, whether you have a notary public license and that you can commit to the time commitment required to before Friday, November 9, 2012.  The Pro-Bono Chairperson will confirm your registration for the training, and forward you the training address.  If you have questions leave a message at 516-851-4007.

Another opportunity is available during the daytime assisting the Executive Director in the Volunteers of Legal Service’s NYC Office.  Volunteer may have an opportunity to assist other departments as needed.


·         A person should be detail oriented

·         Able to organize a large number of files
