Terms for the Competition

The New York City Paralegal Association (NYCPA) is dedicated to advancing the paralegal profession in the New York City area. Paralegals are integral parts of the legal system, so vocation is supported by national and regional organizations. Regional professional paralegal organizations maintain financial aid funds, and additional resources are put-forth by individual, local chapters and affiliated foundations. These examples illustrate the types of aid commonly available for professional paralegals and paralegal schooling.

In 2015 the NYCPA will be presenting three (3) scholarships to winners of the Annual research and writing competition:

  • The PACE® Scholarship. The Paralegal Advanced Competency Exam® is for those with not only a comprehensive education in paralegal studies but also years of practical experience. Those who have passed the PCCE may proudly display the CRP™ designation after their name. The winner of the NYCPA essay contest will receive a check in the amount of $330 for certification examinations and fees. Applicants are required to maintain Active or Associate level of memberships in the NYCPA to be considered for the organization’s scholarship.
