Join Be Social Change and Impact New York on Wednesday, September 14th at 7:00 PM for a panel discussion exploring the US Election Systems and the future of our democracy.
Election Systems are best understood by the rules and incentives constructed around them. With an esteemed panel of national experts on elections theory and policy, we’ll evaluate the United States’ and New York’s Electoral Systems to reveal a series of important policy choices that will shape what our electorate will look like in the coming decades.
Together, we’ll explore questions on how money predicts elections and how we can activate social media to shape our political system. Does the current voting system fundamentally fail certain segments of our country's population? And what can voting systems from other nations tell us about options for change?
Our esteemed panel of Impact Experts this evening will include the Plaintiff's Attorney for Citizens United v. FEC, a Federal Elections Commissioner, a New York State Senator, the legal advisor to Stephen Colbert's presidential campaign, the President of the NYC Campaign Finance Board, and other national experts on elections theory and policy.
