NYLAG One-Day Legal Clinic Pro Bono Opportunities for April 2017

NYLAG routinely offers one-day legal clinics in the community to address urgent and other large-scale needs. Participants undergo training in the legal issues addressed in the clinic and are supervised by NYLAG staff attorneys. NYLAG has several different one-day legal clinic volunteer opportunities available. Pro bono attorneys, law grads and law students and interpreters are welcome to participate. All NYLAG One-Day Legal Clinics will count toward the 50-hour pro bono requirement for admission to the New York State Bar.

Due to space limitations, we can only accommodate the indicated number of volunteers at each site, so we cannot accept everyone who might be interested in participating on a given day. ***Please wait for confirmation before making plans to go to a site. Only volunteers who are confirmed for clinics will be contacted. If you do not receive a confirmation email, it means we were unable to offer you a volunteer slot for the requested date(s).***

Anyone who has questions about volunteering may contact volunteer@nylag.org

APRIL ONE-DAY LEGAL CLINIC SCHEDULE

We will do our best to accommodate you by placing you in at least a few of your choices if possible. Full details can be found here: http://nylag.org/get-involved/pro-bono-opportunities/one-day-legal-clinic-opportunities

IMMIGRATION RELIEF SCREENING CLINICS

NYLAG will be conducting general immigration screenings for a variety of immigrant populations to determine eligibility for various forms of immigration relief, including family based petitions, deferred action, naturalization, T and U visas, and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS). Clinic volunteers with immigration experience are needed to help conduct the screenings. NYLAG staff will be on site to provide direct supervision to volunteers
