Volunteer Opportunity for College Students! Become a Court Navigator in New York City Housing Court DATE & TIME: THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2019 Registration: 9:30 A.M. Training 10A.M. – 1:00 P.M.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
The Court Navigator Program trains non-lawyer volunteers to provide in-court assistance to unrepresented tenants and landlords who are parties to nonpayment proceedings in New York City Housing Court.
TRAINING LOCATION:
111 Centre Street, New York, NY 10013 (Use the White St. entrance between Centre St and Lafayette St.) 8th floor boardroom
SERVICE REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of 30 volunteer hours are required to participate in the Court Navigator Program. Hours may be completed Monday to Friday from 9:15am to 1pm in Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan and Bronx Housing Courts except for court holidays. Volunteers are encouraged to complete more than 30 volunteer hours.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: All volunteers are required to participate in the training provided prior to volunteering. Volunteers will receive an electronic copy of the program’s manual prior to the training date. Volunteers will receive a certificate of volunteer service upon completion of their 30 hours.
