Legal Basics: Veterans Benefits

When: Tuesday July 9, at 11:00 a.m. PT/2:00 p.m. ET.

Two out of three veterans are 50 years old or older, making it increasingly likely that programs working with older adults will also be working with older veterans. The law and aging network is well versed in general benefits and services for older adults, however, it is important to understand the specific benefits available to older veterans.

This webcast will offer a high-level, introduction to VA benefits. The webcast will introduce participants to VA pension benefits and health benefits, including:

  • Non-Service Connected Pension

  • Aid & Attendance

  • Service Connected Disability Compensation

  • Special Monthly Compensation

This webcast is intended to introduce participants to these concepts and is not intended to be a comprehensive training on advising veterans on pension and health benefits.

Presenters:

  • Naomi Rodda, Director of Home and Community Based Services, MPTF

  • Nicole Perez, Managing Attorney, Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles

Closed captioning will be available on this webinar. A link with access to the captions will be shared through GoToWebinar’s chat box shortly before the webinar start time.

The webcast will take place on Tuesday July 9, at 11:00 a.m. PT/2:00 p.m. ET.
