The newly created Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF) provides $9.9B to states, territories, and tribes to help homeowners facing hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic. While each state, territory and tribe is establishing its own HAF program, many of the programs are similar and based on the Treasury Department's guidance. Advocates working with homeowners are facing similar challenges as they seek to help their clients access the HAF programs.
This training will provide an overview of the program guidance, information about general program rules and issues, the interaction of HAF with other loss mitigation options, and a discussion of common implementation challenges for older homeowners seeking program access and assistance.
