Social Security retirement benefits are an important source of economic security for millions of older adults. Currently, over 50 million retired workers receive Social Security benefits each month. These beneficiaries make up 75% of those receiving benefits from the Social Security Administration. Most people are familiar with Social Security retirement benefits, but many don’t understand all of the ins and outs of the rules covering these benefits.
